Be part of the Year of German-American Friendship (“Deutschlandjahr USA”) and join us for a pitch event featuring 8 carefully selected startups based in Germany in the Industrie 4.0 space, who will present their innovative product/solution in computer vision, robotics, wireless communications, artificial intelligence, IoT, and blockchain technologies. Each presentation will be followed by an evaluation and feedback from a panel of industry experts and investors.

The event will bring together the startup community, corporate executives, and investors from the German and Silicon Valley ecosystem. A networking reception follows the presentation.

About ForkOn: ForkOn is a cloud-based SaaS company that optimizes the forklift fleet management of logistics and production companies. As the first OEM independent software provider, ForkOn solves the “principal-agent” problem between the big forklift OEMs that make their money with services and spare parts, and the end-customer. With our easy to use SaaS solution, our customers can save 20% of their entire fleet costs on a continuous basis, year over year, by focusing on the total cost of ownership. We achieve this by automated controls of invoices, access to cheaper spare parts, and optimizing utilization. Furthermore, we increase internal transparency and efficiency by consolidating and unifying data from various external providers such as indoor location, battery management, etc. Based on our extensive experience in the intralogistics industry, as well as partnerships with major industry players such as Voltabox, ELF and Autointern, and with a customer base such as Villeroy&Boch, GC Group, and Duisport, we have quickly gained social proof and traction in the industry.

Presenters: Robert Jänisch, CEO; Andreas Bell, COO
About IOX: IOX offers IoT sensors, trackers and platforms-as-a-service for enterprise or product applications that enable companies to make faster, data-driven decisions and to generate more revenue. In our IOX Lab, we support our customers in the realization of IoT projects and lead them from the idea to the operational prototype within 30 days. Our team uses methods like RAPID DESIGN® and Rapid Prototyping as well as modern technologies – from 3D printing to artificial intelligence.

Presenter: Jan Schnitker, CEO & Co-founder
About Is It Fresh: We are doing ultra-low-cost, end-to-end supply chain digitalization with proprietary chip technology. In other words, printed, wireless 1-Cent sensor tags that can be embedded ultra-mass market commodities like food packaging and determine the quality/freshness (~ milk package) with a variety of sensors. We call this "disposable IoT" as it is cheap enough to embed into anything, so not just Industrie 4.0 more "5.0". Our platform is holistic and does not exclude B2C. B2B is monetized B2C is completely enabled and a pull factor (NFC in every smartphone).
Our solution provides true Internet-Of-Everything that is unreachable with conventional electronics. The average customer profile is a blue chip, that wants to digitalize with our tags their internal supply chain/procurement or even reach with the sensors B2C ("is it fresh?") or both. We are providing an enterprise turnkey solution of industrials readers, the tags + SaaS and data analytics. We monetize primarily (use of) data.

Presenter: Xin Hu, CEO
About MXC: MXProtocol, the Smart City Standard built by people. It leverages the LPWAN IoT technology with Blockchain to solve the data silos and management inside municipalities.

About ProGlove: We are ProGlove, a Munich-based company founded in December 2014 by former BMW and IDEO employees. After winning the Intel make it wearable challenge in the Silicon Valley, we launched the first ever industry smart glove that enables the worker to act faster, safer and easier in production and logistics.
How it works ? Using the bar-code scanner integrated in the glove, a worker is able to directly scan each component which eliminates having to pick up a pistol scanner, saving up to 4 seconds per scan. The glove has the following benefits: ergonomics, quality, ROI.
The human workforce is at the heart of everything we do.That's why we develop integrated hardware and software solutions in order to empower employees. More than 400 customers are already convinced, which includes some of the largest Europe-based multinationals, such as Ikea, Porsche, Lufthansa. ProGlove's goal is to be the leading provider of industrial wearable and software that enable a smarter workflow.

About Echoring by R3 Communications: Our first product line EchoRing™ (ER) is a comprehensive wireless software technology featuring the low latency and high-reliability performance that e.g. industrial control and automation control systems require. ER runs on standard wireless chips – currently on the WiLink™ 8 of our cooperation partner Texas Instruments, combing industrial grade hardware with ground-breaking software technology. We bring our first ER module and device in Q4/19 to the market, the 1st mass-produced platform using ER. EchoRing™ is designed for applications in intra-logistics, mobile machine tools, coordinated robots, PLC-2-PLC communications, field-level control and human-machine interfacing in industrial facilities. Other applications focus e.g. on intra-cabin communications for aircraft. Our first software and hardware product comprises also the integration in different industrial control systems, hardware modules and whole devices.

Presenter: Dr. Michael Suppa, Co-Founder and CEO
About Roboception: Roboception offers innovative 3D vision solutions that enable any robotic system to reliably perceive its environment in real-time, assess it, plan and execute actions such as picking and placing objects. The portfolio consists of the family of rc_visard stereo sensors (four variants) and the modular rc_reason software suite for application-specific enhancements.

Presenter: Diana Rees, CEO and Co-Founder
About ZkSystems: ZkSystems is a scalable blockchain for equipment-as-a-service in industrial manufacturing. By offering machines based on a pay-per-use model instead of selling them in one go, machine manufacturers can generate up to 70% more revenues. ZkSystems enables tamper-proof validation of equipment usage data, so that usage-based payment and billing is completely automated. ZkSystems is used by industry leaders such as Bosch Rexroth; they are an official partner of Oracle, Sopra Steria and SAP.iO and work on a peer-reviewed paper with UC Berkeley. ZkSystems Blockchain provides high scalability with 5,000+ transactions per second, a lean data structure, and interfaces to ERP and enterprise payment systems.
