The Frederick Book Festival 2014 Author/Publisher Registration 

Come out and join us for the 2nd annual Frederick Book Festival. The festival will host authors of multiple genres, lively author panel discussions, author readings, and books galore! We have made some changes to the event to better accommodate both our authors and readers. We have choosen a new venue, which will circumvent any weather issues. We are also hosting writing workshops Friday during the day and a costume ball on Friday night.

Event Date: Friday, June 27, 2014 & Saturday, June 28, 2014 (Registration covers a vendor table on Saturday for the reader event. Friday is set up for writing and publishing workshops.)

AUTHORS and PUBLISHERS:

Authors and publishers can register for a vendor table. An early bird discount of $75 will be offered until September 30, 2013. After that date, the table cost will be $100. We are offering 100 slots this year. You're welcome to sell and/or hand out books and other publishing related items from your table.

All sales and usage taxes are the responsiblity of the author/publisher. Once we receive your registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation email. No refunds will be issued.

FEATURED AUTHORS:

We are also taking applications for our Featured Author slots until September 31, 2013. We will have 30 slots this year. We are looking for authors from multiple genres. Authors must have had a new release in 2013 or have an upcoming release before the date of the book festival. (Cannot be a re-released title)

Self published authors are welcome to apply, but you must have had at least 5 published titles and your feature title must have at least 10 reviews on either Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, or other established retail/review site. If you want to be considered for a featured author slot, please fill out our Featured Author application on our website and submit the required documentation. 

We will evaluate each submission to determine whether it is a fit for the Festival and contact the author/publisher/publicist. Once slots are full, we will maintain a waiting list in case we have any cancellations.

PANEL PROPOSALS:

Panel proposals will be accepted through December 31, 2013. All panel proposals should include:

  • Synoposis of the panel
  • Short blurb to use on programming
  • Bio for all panel members (Please Note: Being a panel member does not automatically qualify you to be a Featured Author. If you wish to have Featured Author status, you must qualify and submit an application to be a Featured Author. If you are on a panel and not a featured author, you must purchase a table to sell at the event.)
  • Special requests/set up needed for panel
  • All panels must be limited to 1 hour

MARKETING and ADVERTISING:

Marketing and promotional slots: We are offering promotional slots for authors and publishers. Please ensure you have high resolution JPEG of cover art or logos. JPEGs should be at least 300 DPI for best print quality.
