The conference will provide a unique and important opportunity to share information, hear from respected trenchless practitioners, visit exhibitor booths and network with trenchless technology professionals actively engaged in trenchless pipeline projects in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. NASTT SHORT COURSE INFORMATION – MORNING SESSION, NOVEMBER 5TH, 2015
NASTT’s Trenchless Technology Short Course – New Installation
Description: This introductory short course is ideally suited for both newcomers to the industry and for anyone who is interested in seeking a refresher course on trenchless technology methods. This session covers new construction techniques – microtunneling, HDD, pipe jacking, auger boring and pipe ramming.
3.5 PDHs or .35 CEUs are available for this course, including 4 hours of instruction.
Course Instructors:
Dr. Sam Ariaratnam, Arizona State University, is a Professor in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University. He received his B.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and his M.S. & Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a co-author of NASTT’s Horizontal Directional Drilling Good Practices Guidelines and Pipe Bursting Good Practices books, a member of NASTT’s No-Dig Show Program Committee and a Technical Program Session Leader.
Dr. David Bennett is the owner and president of Bennett Trenchless Engineers. He was inducted into NASTT’s Trenchless Hall of Fame in 2013, is a co-author of NASTT’s Horizontal Directional Drilling Good Practices Guidelines and Pipe Bursting Good Practices books, a member of NASTT’s No-Dig Show Program Committee and a Technical Program Session Leader.

NASTT’s Trenchless Technology Short Course – Rehabilitation
This introductory short course is ideally suited for both newcomers to the industry and for anyone who is interested in seeking a refresher course on trenchless technology methods. The rehabilitation session provides an overview of the methods available to public works and sewer agencies to rehabilitate water and sewer systems without the need for excavation.
3.5 PDHs or .35 CEUs are available for this course, including 4 hours of instruction.
Course Instructors:
Dr. John Matthews is the Program Manager at Pure Technologies. He is a past recipient of NASTT’s Trent Ralston Young Trenchless Achievement Award, serves on NASTT’s No-Dig Show Program Committee and as a Technical Program Session Leader.
Piero Salvo is the President of GAME Trenchless Consultants and graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Engineering. He is a Past Chair of NASTT and serves on NASTT’s No-Dig Show Program Committee.
