NASTT's Rocky Mountain Chapter Project Site Tour - FREE
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the North American Society for Trenchless technology (RMNASTT) is excited to invite you to a project site tour on October 12, 2018 of Salt Lake City’s MP12A 700 South Capacity Upgrades featuring both a Microtunnel Boring Machine (MTBM) and a Guided Ripe Ram installation of 72-inch steel casing. This is a unique occasion to see two different tunneling techniques in one visit.
This educational opportunity is will offer a presentation that discusses why the trenchless methods chosen for this project are the most suitable for Salt Lake City. The event will cover the following:
1. Introduction of RMNASTT – Nix Construction
2. Overall project design – Bowen and Collins / Salt Lake Cit
3. Tunneling design considerations overview – Lithos Engineering
4. Tunnel installation method selection and tunnel site tour – BT Construction

2,500 ft long Horizontal Directional Drilled installation of a 16-inch HDPE!
This educational opportunity is will offer a presentation that discusses the planning, design and execution of an impressive HDD installation. Presenters of the presentation will cover:
1. HDD design – Lithos Engineering
2. HDD installation – Global Underground
3. Owner representation and answered questions – Centennial W&S District
The mornings agenda will be as follows:
10:00 to 11:00 – Classroom Session at 62 Plaza Dr, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129
1. Introduction of RMNASTT
2. What goes into a HDD design using this project as an example
3. Opportunity to ask the project owner questions about the process
4. Contractor input into the design
11:00 to 11:30- Free Box lunch provided by RMNASTT
1. A chance for some casual conversation with your peers within the infrastructure industry.
2. Hopefully some beneficial networking and discussion of upcoming trenchless projects.
11:50 to 1:00 Field site visit at Chatfield State Park. Parking details to be dicussed at lunch.
