The Original Heaven on Seven on Wabash, the authentic, critically acclaimed Cajun restaurant of chef/owner Jimmy Bannos, is excited to host a cookbook dinner and book signing with Atlanta chef, restaurateur and Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 7 p.m. In his newest cookbook, Pure Pork Awesomeness: Totally Cookable Recipes from Around the World, Gillespie shares his brazen love for pig and all the delicious forms pork takes. To celebrate Heaven on Seven Wabash’s 35th anniversary this year, Chef Bannos is inviting chefs that inspire him to cook in his kitchen. For $85, guests will enjoy a five-course meal of dishes from the cookbook, alcohol pairings, a copy of Gillespie’s cookbook which retails for $30 and a book signing.
An international celebration of all things pork, and organized like the pig itself–by cuts–Pure Pork Awesomeness also includes an informative guide to breeds and cooking methods. Recipes include: Milk-Braised Pork Shoulder, Brunswick Stew Chonchos in Ponchos, Pork Stroganoff with Finger Noodles, Bacon-Molasses Chipwiches, Vietnamese Spareribs with Chile and Lemongrass. Pure Pork Awesomeness is the go-to cookbook for selecting, cooking and enjoying pork every which way and makes every day a reason to celebrate the incredible pig.
