Upakarma 2020

VEDA invites devotees to perform the Yajur/Rg Upakarma at the temple, on Aug 3, 2020. As usual, there will be 3 batches : 630am, 8am and 10am start times.

VEDA understands the need for participants to hear directly from the Vedic Guru and be in the energy space during this event. We want to enable participants to hear and repeat the veda mantra properly, during Vedaarambam. With your support, VEDA has a fantastic facility that is uniquely suited to meet your needs even under these challenging times, with the open space at our temple.

VEDA will conduct this event in a fully ventilated, open setup with the required spacing per social distancing guidelines from governmental authorities, similar to what's shown below:

The space will be cleaned and sanitized between batches and all precautions taken to perform this event in a contact-less and safe manner, to enable attendance in-person.

VEDA understands some devotees may want to do this remotely due to age, medical or other constraints. We will provide online option for those who wish to perform at home, guided by our priest.  Directions will be provided to registered attendees by the end of this month, along with remote viewing instructions.

Temple will provide Yagnopavitam, Pavithram (for both Upakarma and Gayathri Japam) and all other required materials. Once registered, we will keep everything ready for you in a packet, which can be picked up on the day of the event at the front desk in a contact-less manner. Those who wish to join online can pick up the packet from the temple on the weekend prior to the event.

VEDA will enable brahmacharis to perform Gayathri Homam, as we have done every year. This year, we will have multiple homa kundam to meet social distancing requirements. Please register in advance so we can procure all materials for the Gayathri Homam.
