2023 Barbara McConnell Asilomar Weekend Presented by the Great Books Council of San Francisco
We welcome your interest in joining us in person at this incomparably beautiful retreat on the Monterey coast this Spring. Please read the weekend registration and reservation instructions carefully as they have changed from previous years. Registration for the weekend is a TWO-STEP process – Conference Registration and Asilomar Accommodations.
STEP 1 Conference Registration: All participants must register to attend the conference. The applicable registration only covers your conference attendance and supplied materials. It does not cover lodging, meals, or facility use. The following are the conference registration rates:
Standard Registration: - $110
Std with Senior1 Discount - $60
Student2 or 1st Time Attendee as Guest3 – Free with Onsite Accommodations
STEP 2: Asilomar Accommodations: All conference registrants must either reserve a room/meal package or purchase a facilities pass if they wish to reside off-site. The following are the accommodation rates:
Private Room per Person - $619-92 (includes 2 nights, 6 meals, taxes, & facility use)
Shared Room per Person - $413.54 (includes 2 nights, 6 meals, taxes, & facility use)
Off-Site per Person - $50 (limited availability) (includes facility use only. Meal tickets are available.)
Once you have registered for the conference by performing STEP 1 below, you will receive an email confirmation with STEP 2, to complete your reservation for the Barbara McConnell Weekend at Asilomar. Once your reservation is complete, we will email you the reading material details and schedule.

1 Seniors are considered to be age 65 or over in 2023
2 Students must be currently registered full-time and under 25.
3 First-time attendees are those who are guests of a paid registrant and haven’t previously attended the GBBMW at Asilomar.
