Ethics- Understanding the Laws of our Industry
Approved for 3 Credits / Course #36889 / AM Class 9:00- Noon

The Purpose of this class is to take a closer look at the Indiana insurance laws and how they apply to the agent and their work. Understanding the licensing rules and responsibillities of the agent and agency towards those rules are critical to meeting the agents' responsibility to the state, to their industry and mostly to their client. Who should be licensed? and when do they need to be licensed? are questions that every agency faces at one time or another. What is appropriate and what is not in the splitting of commissions and rebates. Agents should have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and the potential consequences of not living up to their opligations to the industry.

All Risk and What is Not Covered - Approved for 3 Credits / Course #27409 / PM Class 1:00- 4:00

The Purpose of this class is to discuss the differences between an open peril coverage form and named peril. The class goes through the exclusions listed in the HO-5 and how they may be interpreted. All Risk is a very misleading term. Does this Homeowners form provide for coverage on everything? How does the client perceive this coverage? A better term would be Open Peril but what does this mean? We will explore the coverages provided under the Special forms and, most importantly, look at the exclusions to see what is not covered.
