This three day interactive training offers basic fundamentals and introductory skills for advocates serving domestic violence survivors and their children. You'll learn about the history of the domestic violence movement and ways to become more culturally humble and inclusive. The training teaches survivor-defined advocacy and strategies for risk management, crisis intervention and safety-planning. You'll also get an overview of the complex civil and criminal justice systems. Come with a desire to explore difficult topics, share with others, have some fun and leave with new knowledge to work effectively with survivors and children experiencing domestic violence.

This hybrid training consists of 18 hours of in-person training and 6 hours of online learning. After you've registered, you'll receive a link to register for and access the online learning portion of this event. All online learning should be completed by February 22. If you have any questions about accessing the onlline learning, please contact ODVN's online training tech support at training@odvn.org.

The in-person and online training fulfills the 24 hours of pre-registration training to initially qualify as Registered Advocate (RA) with the Ohio Advocate Network.
