Shelter Advocate Toolkit

Participants will learn how to navigate the unique concerns related to shelter and 24-hour hotlines, including excellence in customer service, boundaries, confidentiality, de-escalation, and partnering with parent youth intake. Whether you are a new advocate in a domestic violence shelter or want to refresh your knowledge and skills as a seasoned advocate, join us for this practice and interactive training session.
ODVN Trainer: Emily Kulow, Director of Housing and Meaningful Access; Sonia Ferencik, LISW-S, RA, Youth Advocacy and Trauma Informed Services Coordinator
Cost: Free for ODVN Members (ODVN Member Program or Individual/Organizational Membership); $25 for Non-ODVN Members. ***Note: If paying by check, please include the name of the training on the memo line.
CEUs: To obtain 3 CEUs, you are required to attend the entire training and complete the evaluation. When you go to register, please include your complete license number if you are a licensed counselor or social worker in Ohio.
