Abuse in Plain and Amish Communities:
Resources for Survivors and Advocates
Tuesday, November 8, 2022
2:00 p.m.- 3:30 p.m. (EST)
Ohio has one of the largest populations of Plain and Amish settlements in the country; however, survivors from Amish and Plain communities continue to be an underserved population among domestic violence programs. Despite this alarming reality, there are growing coordinated efforts to reach out and partner with Plain/Amish survivors of domestic and sexual violence to help them seek safety and justice. Join this Tuesdays@2 training to learn about cultural humility and best practices while working with survivors from Plain and Amish communities, and hear from seasoned advocates who are at the center of these efforts.
Trainers: Kate Abruzzino, Victim Advocate and Outreach Specialist, OneEighty; Hope Anne Dueck, Co-founder, A Better Way
