WHAT'S YOUR READ is Barkada Circle's storytelling jam session where nonprofits tell stories to a live audience about the impact of their mission. This is your opportunity to share your story with your peers in a safe and supportive setting. You can present a rough narrative that's in the works, ideas on new campaign messaging or unedited videos.
You get the most benefit by coming unprepared with an unfinished story because the immediate feedback you get from the audience is what will help take your new material to the next level.
Feel free to do a live reading, performance or other creative presentation. Just check with us early to make sure we have the right technical setup.

We are excited to host WHAT'S YOUR READ at Street-Level Youth Media, empowering youth to tell their own stories through the media arts and emerging technologies.
Ways to get to Street-Level Youth Media:
- #9 Ashland Bus to Wabansia.
- #72 North Avenue bus to Ashland Avenue.
- Blue Line to Division Street. 10-15 min walk north on Ashland Avenue.
- Blue Line to Damen Avenue. 10-15 min walk east on North Avenue.
- Red Line to North/Clybourn. 20 min walk west on North Avenue, or #72 North Avenue bus west to Ashland Avenue.
- If you're driving: take the North Avenue Exit off I-90, turn west onto North Avenue and right on Ashland Avenue for half block. Lots of street-parking!
