This CLE will address recent changes to Colorado’s Rules of Civil Procedure. The presenters will address case management including the one year trial setting goal, pleading practices and Warne v. Hall standards, CMOs and Case Management Conferences; application of factors to be considered in determining proportionality, including expressing how those factors are considered in the CMO. The presenters will address the scope of expert disclosures and testimony. The presenters will be inviting audience participation so as to address CLDA member’s questions and concerns throughout the presentation.

John L. Wheeler - 18th Judicial District Judge
After a six year career as a restaurateur in Summit County, Judge John L. Wheeler entered law school and then the private practice of civil law from 1983 to 2006 with Pryor Carney and Johnson in Greenwood Village, and then with Antonio Bates Bernard in Denver. In October 2006, Wheeler was appointed to the District Court bench in the Eighteenth Judicial District, currently sitting in the Arapahoe County District Court. Judge Wheeler is a 1972 graduate of Cornell University and a 1982 graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law.

Mr. Little is one of the firm's founding partners and works primarily in the field of civil litigation. Since his legal career began in 1959, he has tried to conclusion more than fifty jury trials and more than one hundred trials to the Court. Additionally, he has prosecuted or defended more than seventy-five criminal felony jury trials. He is on Colorado’s Civil Rules Committee.
