Join the CDLA New Lawyer's Committee for an exciting guided hike and climb along Telluride's Via Ferrata at the east end of the Telluride Canyon near the base of Ajax Peak. A Via Ferrata, which is Italian for "iron road," is a mountain route which is equipped with a system of metal rungs, hooks, and handholds bolted into the side of the mountain. The use of these added elements allows otherwise isolated routes to be joined to create longer routes which are accessible to people with a wide range of climbing abilities. Telluride's Via Ferrata combines elements of rock climbing with a spectacular two-mile hike along and exposed trail, which traverses the immense cliffs forming the border of Telluride's box canyon. The hike offers spectacular views of Bridal Veil Falls and the Telluride Valley. While the hike is not physically demanding, it does follow an exposed route that can make it a mentally demanding activity. We will provide more information on what to bring in mid-July.
