March 18, 2021 - 4:30 p.m - 5:45 p.m.

1.25 hours CLE applied for

Presented by:
Sara Scott, CEO of the Center for Legal Inclusiveness

Excerpt:  Achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in your workplace is a process for creating change through education, collaboration and vigilance.  Integrating DEI into organizational systems and processes is important for all organizations, and true DEI cannot be created without a better understanding of the definitions and work required to create an inclusive workplace.

Description of event:  The Center for Legal Inclusiveness will lead a 75-minute training on Zoom for the CDLA that will define and equip the viewers with tools to counteract inequities in the following categories: diversity, equity, inclusion, systemic racism, microaggressions, unconscious bias, and antiracism.

Objectives, after the training the attendees will:

  • Have a better understanding of DEI terminology and examples as to how these inequities come to fruition in everyday life.
  • Gain a better understanding of racial inequities and how you, as an individual and your organization, can address these inequities.
  • Have tools to engage in practicing the steps to identify conscious and unconscious biases and strategies to mitigate the effect of these biases.
  • The attendees will leave the training with strategies to bring back to their law firms to assist in operationalizing their DEI strategies.
