Live Online Course:

Upset Recognition and Recovery Training

Professional Development

Flight Research, Inc. is now offering online live training for each of the ground school sessions associated with the world class Flight Research Upset Recognition and Recovery Training (URRT). These modules will familiarize pilots with the concepts of URRT. As part of the solution to Loss of Control- In Flight, these conceptual tools are part of a larger more comprehensive program which includes in-aircraft training at the Flight Research Headquarters located in Southern California at the Mojave Air and Space Port.

Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat/Error Management (TEM)

Two-hour live training session: Traditional CRM and the more recent TEM concepts are essential to any organization’s safety culture.  FRI CRM training stresses adaptability, situational awareness, self-awareness, assertiveness, decision making, analysis and communication. This course will help to foster a culture where authority may be respectfully questioned. It recognizes that a discrepancy between what is happening and what should be happening is often the first indicator that an error is occurring.TEM training begins with the perspective that pilots will naturally make mistakes and encounter risky situations during flight operations. TEM focuses primarily on teaching pilots to manage threats and errors so they do not compromise safety. TEM training seeks to maintain safety margins practically by training aircrew to recognize and respond to events that become threats as well as likely errors.  Lastly, TEM training incorporates strategies from CRM to teach aircrew to manage threats and errors as a team.

Pilots will receive in-depth, personalized instruction covering TEM from Dr. Mark Scharf in this two-hour session. Pilots will have the ability to interact throughout the live course and ask questions relative to their own operations.

The course is limited to only 15 registrations to ensure quality training. Be sure to register today to get an open seat.
