The Hidden Cost of Bias in Client Treatment and Outcomes with Dr. Henderson

Clinicians need to recognize “who they are” and how that can influence their biases. It is important to recognize that clinician bias, whether implicit or explicit, influences the engagement with clients and the outcomes of client treatment. Finally, clinicians need to understand the way that their biases impact clinical perception and client outcomes. This workshop will help clinicians to understand who they are and how their biases impact client interactions and outcomes.

Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to understand how “who they are” can influence their personal biases.
2. Participants will be able to define implicit and explicit bias.
3. Participant will understand the way that implicit and explicit bias impacts the clinical perception of clients and can thus influence client outcomes.

Refunds will be made ONLY for cancellations received three business days prior to the event. If received less than three days prior to the event, a credit can be issued for use at another program within the next 6 months. If notice of cancellation is not received before the date of the program, no refund will be issued.  PLEASE NOTE: No shows will be charged the full registration fee.

Class sizes are limited, so register early. Classes with low registrations may be canceled. If the class is canceled or moved, participants will be contacted via email at least 24 hours in advance.

Classes start and end on time. To ensure a quality experience for all, please log in at least 15 minutes prior to the class to resolve any technical issues.  CEU credits will be adjusted 0.25 credit hours for every 15 minutes not in attendance; adjusted certificates will be emailed to participants within 3 business days after the training. Hard copies of certificates will be mailed upon request.

The webinar CEUs will take place on Zoom during the designated times. The link to join the webinar session will be sent in your registration confirmation email. 

Please note: Certificates will be sent electronically so long as the virtual attendance has been verified and evaluation returned. A reminder that, in keeping with licensure board requirements, certificates will be adjusted 0.25 hours for every 15 minutes not in attendance, and attendance will be monitored.
