What is the new normal? In 2017, Congress gave us an aggressive and business friendly fiscal package in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. In 2019 the SECURE Act was designed to make saving for retirement easier. Fast forward to the present day and political sentiments in D.C. have clearly shifted. There is now a concerted and ongoing effort to raise taxes on businesses, increase estate taxes and institute innovative, if not radical, new measures to tax the wealthy. How successful have these efforts been? Will they work? What will taxes look like in 2022?
