When children and teens have learning differences, there are often topics that can be difficult to address. Parents may feel nervous or worried that they could say the wrong thing, they may feel uncomfortable talking about emotional topics themselves, or they may not even know where to begin. In this workshop, Child & Adolescent Therapist Alison Ratner Mayer, LICSW, will demystify the murky waters of difficult conversations and provide some key tips and concrete suggestions to try at home.
Topics covered will include:
• Talking with your child about his/her learning differences
• Helping your child talk with other kids about his/her learning differences
• Opening the lines of communication between children and parents
Admission is FREE, but space is limited and first come, first served. Please RSVP below at your earliest convenience.
Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
