David joined Express Scripts in 2009, bringing more than 13 years of pharmacy experience with him. Before coming aboard, he served as director of pharmacy with WellCare Health Plans and as an operations manager and community pharmacist with Arrow Pharmacy.

Reducing Waste
While working as a pharmacy director for WellCare Health Plans, David identified and eliminated $350,000 in waste associated with specialty drugs for the health plan. “There is tremendous waste in healthcare and, in particular, in the pharmacy benefit. It is critical to reduce this waste, and I am passionate about helping clients in this regard,” explains David.

Business Philosophy
“I enjoy helping clients understand the tools available to reduce prescription waste and improve healthcare through the cost-effective use of medication,” says David.

As senior director, Clinical Program Management, David assumes the following responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical support for new business opportunities
  • Performs financial modeling and clinical analysis
  • Acts as clinical liaison to key national consulting organizations
  • Leads and develops clinical training for Express Scripts staff
  • Represents the clinical perspective in finalist and other presentations
  • Supports the RFP process by responding to questions of a clinical nature
