LVBCH Roundtable - October 30, 2014

"Benefit Design in the Post-ACA Environment"

You are invited to attend an educational event co-sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH) and Merck.  The session will focus on benefit design options for employers in the post Affordable Care Act (ACA) environment.

This exclusive event will include a thought-provoking presentation by Mark Fendrick, MD, a professor of internal medicine in the School of Medicine and a professor of health management and policy in the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan.

"The ultimate test of health care transformation will be whether it improves health and addresses rising costs.  Tools like value-based insurance design (VBID), that change focus from how much to how well we spend our health care dollars, will better enable the achievement of these goals."

You will learn how value-based insurance design (VBID) optimizes the amount of health benefit gained per dollar spent with a focus on long-term outcomes of improved functional health.  When used in an employer setting, VBID is an engagement tool supporting an evidence-based approach to managing health outcomes. We are pleased to offer this session as a follow-up to the Patient-Centered Medical Home event that Merck sponsored for LVBCH members last October.

Additional information about the event as well as a list of learning objectives is presented below.  This is one educational event you will not want to miss!

Please RSVP by Friday, 10/17/14.
