You are invited to attend an educational event titled "Substance Abuse - A Major Challenge for Employers" co-sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH), Express Scripts, and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.  The event will be held at the PBS39/WLVT Public Media Center located in Bethlehem, PA near Steel Stacks and ArtsQuest.  Additional information about the event as well as a list of learning objectives is presented below.

Kristen Wenrich, MPH, CPH has worked in the field of public health for more than 19 years.  Ms. Wenrich was appointed to the position of Director of Health for the City of Bethlehem in 2013.  She joined the Bethlehem Health Bureau in September 1998 after graduating from East Stroudsburg University.  In May 2004, she earned her master’s degree in public health from East Stroudsburg University and received her certification in public health in 2008.  

Ms. Wenrich worked in several program areas during her 19 years of employment, including maternal and child health, chronic disease prevention, public health emergency preparedness, communicable disease and quality improvement.  In her role as Health Director, she focuses on diagnosing the most pressing health issues in Bethlehem, identifying the most effective strategies to improve health and collaborating with community partners in an effort to fulfill the Health Bureau’s mission of creating a healthier Bethlehem.  In an effort to become a high performing public health department, Ms. Wenrich recently led her organization through the public health accreditation process.

Victor Parziale is the Program Educational Consultant for Drug Free Workplace PA, a program of the non-profit Gaudenzia, Inc., the largest drug and alcohol treatment provider in the State of Pennsylvania. Through his business, Ernest Victor Consulting, Victor routinely provides training for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry and many other agencies across the State. Victor helped create the PCCD funded Drug Free Workplace PA which was established to assist  Pennsylvania businesses in setting up drug free workplace programs and to educate all Pennsylvanians on the dangers of drug abuse and where to find treatment.  Victor received his B.S. in Chemistry from U.C. Santa Barbara.  

For more than twenty years Victor worked as a research chemist and as a technical sales representative.  In recent years, because of his desire to help others, Victor moved into an educational role, first teaching Chemistry at Lincoln University and then serving clients at Treatment Trends, a drug and alcohol therapeutic community.  Today as a Certified Recovery Specialist and an ARISE Interventionist Intern; Victor combines his background in chemistry, education, and treatment to inform both workplaces and the community at large about the hazards of substance abuse and the pathway to recovery.

Ken joined Express Scripts in 2007 as a Clinical Account Executive and now leads a group of clinicians in the eastern U.S. providing clinical expertise to our employer clients as an integral part of our account team.  Ken provides clinical strategy to plan sponsors in his continued role as Clinical Account Executive.

Prior to coming aboard, he served in a number of clinical and business roles within the healthcare industry including hospital, long-term care, retail and specialty pharmacy, and with a major health plan.  His experience allows him to understand his clients’ benefit philosophies and identify opportunities to best support member health and safety.

Ken has an MBA in business administration from Eastern University and a BS in pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science.
