Leah Binder is President & CEO of The Leapfrog Group, representing employers and other purchasers of health care calling for improved safety and quality in hospitals. She is a regular contributor to Forbes.com, the Huffington Post, and the Wall Street Journal expert forum. She was named on Becker’s list of the 50 most powerful people in healthcare in 2014, and consistently cited by Modern Healthcare among the 100 most influential people and top 25 women in healthcare.

Under her leadership, The Leapfrog Group launched the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, which assigns letter grades assessing the safety of general hospitals across the country. She has also fostered groundbreaking innovations in the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey, including partnerships to eliminate early elective deliveries, central line-associated bloodstream infections and safe use of health technology.

She has served on numerous national boards and councils, including the Institute of Medicine Collaboration on Patient Engagement, the Health Care Financial Management Association Leadership Advisory Committee, PCORI Health Systems Advisory Panel, AARP’s Champions for Nursing Strategic Advisory Council, the National Priorities Partnership Board.

Prior to her position at The Leapfrog Group, Ms. Binder spent eight years as vice president at Franklin Community Health Network, an award-winning rural hospital network in Farmington, Maine. She previously worked as a senior policy advisor for the Office of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in New York City and started her career at the National League for Nursing, where she handled policy and communications for more than 6 years.

Ms. Binder has a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and two master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, one from the Annenberg School of Communication and the other from the Fels Institute of Government. She lives in Maryland with her husband, Sam, and two children, Henry and Fanya.

Marc Granson, MD

Marc Granson, MD, was a vascular surgeon for 33 years and Chair of Surgery for St. Luke’s University Health Network from 2003 to 2016. While he was Chair, he realized no hospitals had a tool to analyze the quality AND cost of their surgeons and patients had no way to objectively choose their surgeon.  In late 2016, Dr. Granson stepped down as Chair to dedicate his energy to SurgeonCheck. He is on a mission to bring transparency and objective measurement to surgical outcomes. Dr. Granson earned a B.S. from Indiana University, an M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Southern California. He completed his Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jennifer Anne Chambers, MD is the Senior Vice President for Clinical Solutions and Chief Medical Officer at Capital BlueCross, a leading health insurance company serving 21 counties in central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. Capital BlueCross offers health insurance products, services, and technology solutions to more than 1.3 million members.

Since joining Capital BlueCross in 2007, Dr. Chambers has led the company’s medical policy, clinical innovation, patient safety initiatives, and clinical teams. Under her leadership, the company has driven innovation within its clinical services programs to improve healthcare outcomes for Capital’s members.

Prior to Capital BlueCross, Dr. Chambers served as director of palliative medicine at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She was also the clinical director of VA Medicine in Lebanon, Pa. where she was responsible for medical inpatient, primary care, and urgent care services.

Dr. Chambers is a board member for Keystone Human Services, serves as Chairman of the Keystone Human Services Board, and recently served on the Health Care Improvement Foundation Board based in Philadelphia. She maintains a faculty appointment at Penn State Hershey College of Medicine, and is very active with Penn State Harrisburg, serving on its Board of Advisers and the School of Business Administration board. 

Dr. Chambers was recently honored with the Pennsylvania State University Alumni Fellowship Award.  She also received the YWCA Woman of Excellence award, as well as the Central Penn Business Journal’s Woman of Influence award.  She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Harrisburg area.

She and her husband, Michael, live in Grantville, Pa., and are the parents of three children.

Matthew McCambridge, MD, MS, FACP, FCCP

Matthew McCambridge, MD, MS, FACP, FCCP earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Johns Hopkins University in 1988 and his Medical degree from Georgetown University in 1992.  He then entered the United Sates Army where he did his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency and then Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowships all at Walter Reed Army Medical Center completing his training in 1998.  He then served at Womack Army Medical Center and with 82^nd Airborne Division both at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from 1998 to 2003. He returned home to eastern Pennsylvania and started as a staff physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and has been there since that time.  At LVHN, he has served in a number of capacities to include President of the Medical Staff, Chairman of Critical Care, Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety and in January of 2017, after completing a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Quality and Patent Safety, he became the network’s Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer.

Donna Sabol serves as the Vice President and Chief Quality Officer for St. Luke’s University Health Network.  Ms. Sabol was named Vice President and Chief Quality Officer in June 2007.  Prior to that time she held various administrative positions in her tenure at St. Luke’s.  In addition to overseeing Quality Ms. Sabol is also administratively responsible for other Network functions including Care Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement and Coding, Clinical Risk Management and Clinical Analytics.  Under Ms. Sabol’s leadership St. Luke’s University Health Network has earned numerous state and national quality awards.  St. Luke’s was named a 2018 IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospital for the fourth consecutive year and has achieved this recognition a total of six times.  Other achievements include Leapfrog “A” safety Grades, CMS 5 Star hospital ratings, STS 3 Star (highest) rating.

Ms. Sabol has a Master in Nursing from DeSales University in Allentown, PA. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Wilkes University in Wilkes Barre, PA.

Terrill Theman, MD, MEng attended medical school and subsequently cardiovascular and thoracic surgery training in Canada before relocating to the USA in 1983.   He came to the USA to initiate the open-heart surgery program at St. Luke's Hospital, where he was privileged to practice surgery until 2011.   After retirement from active surgical practice he attended Lehigh University with the goal of achieving his Master's degree in Healthcare Systems Engineering.  He is now able to call upon both his extensive experience in the practice of Medicine as well as a solid understanding of the Engineering tools that can be used to address many of the issues that currently interfere with the prompt and safe delivery of healthcare in America today.  At present he serves as Adjunct Professor in the Healthcare Systems Engineering Program at Lehigh University where he mentors and supervises graduate students in the project-based coursework."

Scott Fair is currently a Vice President, Benefits Consulting for USI Insurance Services and is responsible for managing key client relationships, developing new business, and providing senior leadership to the consulting and benefits administration teams.  Scott has over 30 years of expertise in the field of human resources / employee benefits.

Prior to joining USI Insurance Services, Scott held senior leadership positions at several other consulting firms and was co-owner of Banyan Consulting, LLC. He was instrumental in Banyan Consulting’s expansion into several new lines of business; including, benefits administration services, association health plan administration, and comprehensive health plan claims analytics and benchmarking services.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of PA (IUP), majoring in Industrial Safety Sciences and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from St. Francis University.
