Passover 2014
Hosted by Shalom's Founding Pastor
Bron Barkley

"Therefore let us keep the festival . . ."

"Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth" (1 Cor. 5:7-8).

Jews have been celebrating Passover for thousands of years to commemorate their Exodus from Egyptian bondage, but comparatively few people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are aware of the Christian symbolism built into the Passover Seder.

Shalom's 2014 Passover Seder will be held on Monday, April 14 (the first night of Passover)  at the Doubletree Hotel near Houston's Intercontinental Airport.  As always, there will be good food, good fellowship, and a chance to learn about and celebrate Christ in the Passover. We hope you can join us!  You can register, pay, and print your ticket out online.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN PURCHASING TICKETS

Ticket sponsorships are welcomed

To be a ticket sponsor means you purchase a ticket for someone who otherwise couldn't afford to attend.   To sponsor one or more tickets, purchase guest tickets that you don't plan to use yourself and enter "Sponsored" as the first and last names under Guest Information on the registration form. Sponsored tickets will be distributed by Shalom and will look like the other tickets that are printed out by us.  (In other words, they will not say "Sponsored" on them.)

Please also bear in mind the following:

  • You must pay for your ticket in order to obtain a reservation.
  • Space is limited, so purchase your ticket as early as possible to avoid being disappointed.
  • Even if we do not run out of space, tickets will not be sold after April 12 in order to be able to give the chef a headcount.  This means that no tickets will be sold at the door.
  • There will be no assigned seats unless you purchase a table (10 seats).
  • Arrive early.  (Doors open at six.) If you don't purchase a table, seating will be first come, first served.
  • Childcare is not available.
  • There will be no refunds.
