October's Seminar: Competition in Subcontracting

Please join us for a two-hour seminar on understanding FAR 52.244-5, Competition in Subcontracting. Breakfast and networking prior to the event!

Per FAR 52.244-5: Competition in Subcontracting, the Contractor shall select subcontractors (including suppliers) on a competitive basis to the maximum practical extent consistent with the objectives and requirements of the contract.

Exactly what does “to the maximum practical extent” mean? Is it possible to get an “A” for effort? This seminar will review FAR 52.244-5 and how to incorporate it within your organization’s procurement strategy to ensure compliance.

In this seminar, attendees will learn about:

  • Level of competition required by the FAR
  • Relationship between competition for subcontracts and small business subcontracting plans
  • Government-directed sources

About the Presenter: Marie Jatsko, CFCM, Fellow, is the current Director of Subcontracting and Procurement for Dell Services Federal Government. She has nearly 40 years of experience in subcontracting, having also worked at CSC, Northrop Grumman, DynCorp, KBR, and BAE Systems. Marie has participated in 11 CPSRs during her career. She is a founding member of the NCMA Battlefield-Dulles Chapter and has held various positions within NCMA.
