In Collaboration with SEEPP, The Children's Museum of Greater Fall River Inc. is offering a Professional Learning Community for eduactors in Region 5.
"Passport to Kindergarten"
The Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River is offering four PLCs that center around the topics of STEM, Brain Building in Progress, Kindergarten Readiness, and Literacy. You will take away from these workshops a “Passport to Kindergarten” that you can recreate within your own centers or use as a tool to support continuity of education at home.
(This is a product of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’s Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge grant initiative, which is managed by the Department of Early Education and Care in partnership with Boston Children’s Museum.)
Literacy
This Professional Learning Community (PLC) will explore ways to utilize stories both inside and outside of the classroom. There will be an introduction to StoryWalks, and discussion related to how to create your own story walk and how to access the Massachusetts statewide StoryWalk collections that are located in four Early Childhood Resource Center libraries.
EEC Training Hours: 2 (this is not a CEU Training)
Core Competency Alignment: Area 5: Learning Environments and Curriculum
This training is funded in part by the Department of Early Education and Care
and sponsored by the Southeast Education Professionals Partnership
