Family and Community Engagement: Building (Structurally Sound) Bridges in a Culturally Diverse Community-PLC

 This PLC will focus on fostering family and community partnerships in early childhood settings. Family and community partnerships strengthen a district’s ability to accomplish its mission by providing additional support and making programs stronger and more meaningful. Participants will discover the true intention of partnership and develop strategies to enable them to move from “random acts of involvement” to meaningful, ongoing engagement. Strategies will be created for creating action steps that will help lay a foundation for creating partnerships that will be structurally sound and sustainable. The goal is to directly engage parents and guardians of children in a mixed delivery system, in order to promote and support healthy outcomes for all families, based on the Strengthening Families model.

All participants will receive a copy of the book, The Parent Connection: An educator's guide to family engagement by Joni Samples.
