DAP for Children Birth through 5

Course Description: Every child needs positive early learning experiences that foster his/her intellectual as well as social and emotional development (Zero to Three, 2014). During the early years of a child’s life, experiences and interactions form either a strong or weak foundation for a child’s development and future success in school and in life. Early childhood programs can help children form a strong foundation by providing individualized, responsive and stimulating developmentally appropriate experiences that occur throughout the day. In this session, participants will revisit development of children birth through age 5 and explore providing sensory and child-directed learning experiences based upon each child’s interests and needs.
