Why should communities attend?
1 in 5 women who experience rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner, first experienced some form of violence between 11 and 17 years of age. And almost half of all female victims who have been raped experienced their first rape before age 18, with 30% between 11 and 17 years of age. (Centers for Disease Control 2011).

Who Should Attend?
Communities must register in groups of 3 to 10 innovators! Community can be defined by geography, by discipline (educators, youth leaders, advocacy organizations, health care providers, counselors, business leaders, faith-based leaders, and more), by social justice cause, or by your community’s particular needs and interests. Embracing Adolescents is free, but you can’t come alone because we believe that conversation yields innovative moments, sparks ideas, and is more likely to create change.

If you would like to attend, but do not have a community group to sign up with, please contact our office and we will put you in touch with a program and/or organization in your area.

Creating Change Format
Embracing Adolescents will convene time and space for interactive plenaries, immersive banner sessions, and creative conversations. Participants will choose the direction, speed, and path of their learning through sharing ideas, participatory learning, and problem-solving collaboration.
