Maple Grove UMC Spotlight Series: Eyes on Addiction 

Most of us have been impacted by some type of addiction. Many have lost hope. Join us for a lunch and learn series to become more aware and to learn about the disease of addiction, to recognize the myths surrounding addiction, and to explore the role of the church in bringing hope to those impacted.

 A light lunch will be provided.  Donations for the lunch are welcomed.  Childcare will also be available.  Please register below to help us accurately plan for food and materials.

Addiction 101:  The Science of Addiction

Dr. Nicole Kwiek
Associate Professor and Assistant Dean, The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy
Dr. Kwiek is an associate professor in the department of pharmacology as well as the co-founder and co-leader of Generation Rx, a national initiative aimed at promoting awareness of safe medication-taking practices and the dangers of prescription drug misuse.

Mr. Steward leads Equitas Health’s harm reduction efforts working across service lines to bring a cross-disciplinary approach to prevention. He is a writer, speaker, activist, and journalist.
