In Project Lead The Way’s high school engineering, computer science, and biomedical science courses, students engage in applied learning, meaning students learn by doing. Students are taught standards-based content then quickly apply what they have learned to solve real-world problems using actual industry tools and practices. PLTW helps students develop critical thinking, complex problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills needed to succeed in today’s rapidly changing, tech-infused world. This day is dedicated to recognizing and celerbating their hard work and achievements.
At the High School Student Showcase students are invited to share their PLTW projects designs with STEM professionals to discuss their work and receive authentic feedback on their work. Going beyond their PLTW classroom and connecting with professionals is one of the top requests we get from students. Getting to engage with you is both exciting and a powerful signal that what they’re learning and doing is relevant and important to their future.
Borrowing from the athletics tradition that celebrates student athletes who sign on to play a sport at the collegiate level, at STEM Signing Day we celebrate the scholastic achievement of our Project Lead The Way students who are committed to pursuing STEM after graduation. STEM Signing Day is an opportunity to recognize students who participated in rigorous Project Lead The Way engineering, computer science, and biomedical science classes during their high school careers. This cohort of PLTW students is an impressive group who will help make the world a better place with their passion, skills, and ingenuity and we're honored to come together as a community to recognize them.
Please note judges are only required to stay from 9:00am-11:00am but are encouraged to stay for the entery of the event.
As part of the registration process we ask you to approve or decline Mass STEM Hub's Media Release form. Please click here to review this document before proceeding.
