Marriage Retreat

 

    You are invited to the 2019 Winter Marriage Retreat at Hawthorn Suites in Decatur/Mt Zion Friday, Feb 22 and Saturday, Feb 23. The retreat, sponsored by the CBA, is facilitated by Doug and Leslie Davis, Pastor and wife of Arthur Southern Baptist Church.  Doug and Leslie will lead you through an exploration of “Love and Respect: Becoming One! God’s plan for your marriage” and “Living Intimately: How to affair-proof your marriage” and “Say What? Skills for effective communication. So, whether you are newly married or a seasoned veteran, this retreat will be informative, encouraging, and entertaining.

 Registration:

Attendance is limited to 9 couples. Registration is $140. That includes meals, room, and sessions. Reservations due by January 17, 2019.

Other information:

Reserved rooms have one Queen bed, and a couch that makes into a bed, microwave and refrigerator, free wi-fi, coffee maker, alarm clock, and hairdryer. Breakfast is at the hotel by 10 AM on Saturday. Checkout from room is at Noon. Friday night's meal is at the Royal Internation Buffet (Chinese).

OUR FACILITATORS:

Doug is Senior Pastor of his hometown church where he has passionately served since 2005. Doug is a leader and teacher who loves the Lord and has served in ministry since 1992. He and Leslie often work as a team to help couples fulfill their true potential though Biblical support.

Leslie provides Christ-Centered Biblical counseling for individuals, couples, and families in a confidential, comfortable setting, and helps people restore emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational health to their lives by providing encouragement, education, and support in a way that is consistent with Scripture. She has earned a Master of Science degree in counseling from Illinois State University. She has been certified as a Suicide Intervention Specialist, as well as a Theophostic prayer counselor, and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

   Doug and Leslie have always called Illinois home. They have been joyfully married for 29 years and raised four daughters. Doug and Leslie celebrate three sons-in-law, and two dimpled granddaughters who affectionately refer to them as “Nana and Grump.”
