Inaugural Speaker: Daniel M. Schwartz, Ph.D.:

Dr. Daniel Schwartz received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1974. Dr. Schwartz has authored and co-authored over 50 publications in the audioligy literature, primarily in the field of hearing aids and auditory brainstem responses in childern and adults. Dr. Schwartz also was a founding member of the American Academy of Audiology and is a Fellow of the ASHA. In 1980 he became one of the early pioneers in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and was a founding member of the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring as well as the AABIOM. Dr. Schwartz has authored or co-authored 75 articles and book chapters in leading surgical journals and textbooks and is most well known for his work in developing more efficacious methods for neuromonitoring during pediatric and adult spine surgey. Dr. Schwartz is also well known for having established one of the most recognized private neuromonitoring practices in the USA. In 2011, he sold his practice, Surgical Monitoring Associates, to Specialty Care.
