The Role of Community Design
in Economic Development

When we think of fostering economic growth and development, we often think of tax breaks and other incentives.  What about the community itself - what kind of quality of life does it offer?  What are the characteristics that support and can foster growth and vitality? Remember, it's people who decide where to go (not businesses!) - what might they be looking for?

Plan NH will host a two-day conference to raise awareness
of the impact of community design and our built envrionment on economic growth and development

10:30 - noon              OPTIONAL walking tour of Dover  (pre-registration encouraged)

1:30 - 5	Dover Story, Quality of Life Workshop, presentation demonstrating that Q of L is economically beneficial
5 - 6	Optional Reception (Cash Bar)  (Pre-registration encouraged)
6:00	Optional Supper at 7th Settlement (pre-registration encouraged)

Friday October 27

8 - 8:30	Registration and Breakfast
8:30 - 3:00	Presentations, Discussions and More.  Lunch Included.

These will be two fast-paced days with lots of interactive learning and small group discussions.  

And more, just for YOU:

• While there is plenty of on-street and garage parking within a few minutes of where we will be, we will provide parking at no additional cost in a lot close to the venue. You must register for this in advance, and we will send a parking permit right before the event for you to display in your car.  (The downside is that it is an unpaved lot so if it's raining, it might be muddy.)
• OTHER:  As you can see, on Thursday there are three optional events.  If you are planning to attend any or all, we would deeply appreciate it if you could please register for each so that we can have an idea of numbers. thank you!
