 'Shored Up' Film Screening

Monday, March 31, 2014

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Joslyn Hall on the campus of Carteret Community College, Morehead City

Don’t miss the screening of ‘Shored Up’ – a documentary on coastal development in North Carolina and New Jersey following Hurricane Sandy. The N.C. Coastal Federation’s Tracy Skrabal is featured in the film. 'Shored Up' asks tough questions about our coastal communities and our relationship with the land. What will a rising sea do to our homes, our businesses and the survival of our communities? Our development of the coastlines put us in a tough predicament and it’s time to start looking for real solutions.

The film, presented by the federation and Carteret County Crossroads,
begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Joslyn Hall will open at 6 p.m., and a poster session featuring notable sea level rise research in North Carolina will precede the film.  After the screening there will be a panel discussion featuring coastal systems experts: Greg “Rudi” Rudolph, Richard Barber and Don Barber.
