Cruise for the Coast

Celebrate our beautiful coast and National Estuaries Day with the N.C. Coastal Federation for the first annual Cruise for the Coast on Sunday, September 28. This family-friendly cruise will depart from Carolina Beach aboard the 65-foot Winner Cruise Queen, out of Carolina Beach Marina. The destination for the cruise is Masonboro Island, where participants can enjoy educational activities and a beach walk led by federation staff and Richard Cecelski of Carolina Ocean Studies. The return journey will cruise through Snow’s Cut, just in time for the sunset, and guests can enjoy music, complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages on the upper deck.

The event is $15 for federation members, $25 for nonmembers and free for children ages 6 and under. Proceeds from the cruise will support the federation's education programs. Space is limited and registration is required. No tickets will be sold the day of the event.

The Cruise for the Coast event is rain or shine.  All guests should arrive by 3:30 p.m. The boat will leave promptly at 4:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for being out on the water and for walking on the beach (it is always 10 degrees cooler on the water). For more information or with any questions, email Ben Brink at benb@nccoast.org, call 910.509.2838 or stop by the Coastal Educaiton Center at 309 W.
