King & Queen of the Concourse presented by CrossFit Edmonton & The Oil Kings

Dec.31/13 Update.   - EVENT WILL BE HELD AT CROSSFIT EDMONTON

Unfortunately due to some last minute facility challenges with Northlands and the Oil Kings we are unable to perform this event at Rexall Place.  Despite our efforts to accommodate the usage of Rexall Place we did not want to compromise the quality of the workout or the event.  We share in your disappointment and hope we have come up with an acceptable solution.  The event will take place at CrossFit Edmonton on the same day and time and entry fees will be adjusted as follows:

-Spectators and Judges $0

-Individual Participants $15

-Team Participants $25/ team

 You will be reimbursed the difference through Paypal before January 4th. 

 Entry fee still includes a bag, a shirt, a donation to YESS and participation in the workout.

 If you are uninterested in participating in this new event, please notify us by January 2nd and we will refund your entire entry fee.  email events@crossfitedmonton.ca

Heats schedule will be reposted as we get feed back as to how many athletes will attend.  We will try to keep is similar to what was posted on the website. 

Get ready for an amazing event for Crossfitters. From beginner to advanced, this is a great opportunity to get a taste of the competition scene. We have something for everyone! Come out for a WOD and support a great cause — the Youth Emergency Shelter. Sign up as a competitor, modified, or a team.  Heats will run between 8am and 3ish. 

CrossFit Social event at the Edmonton Oil Kings vs. Seattle Thunderbirds game at 7pm. Event winners are on ice for the ceremonial puck drop.  

There are 3 divisions:

Competitor  Men's & Women's- Competitor athletes will have set standards of movement and cannot modify.  If an athlete is not able to complete the workout without modifications, you will be placed in the modified category. 

Modified Men's & Women's- Modified athletes will be able to scale the workout to their ability and will not qualify for standings or prizes. 

Teams of 1 Male and 1 Female Rx'd and Modified -  Team athletes registered as RX'd will have set standards of movement and cannot modify.  Team athletes regisered as modified will not qualify for standings or prizes. 

Rx'd Top 3 Males, Top 3 Females and Top 3 Teams will compete late afternoon for King & Queen of the Concourse 

Due to the location of the event, you will not see pull ups, muscle ups, ring dips or handstand push ups. 

Judges and volunteers, we want you! 

Judges - If you are an elite level competitor or coach please lend us your expertise as a judge.  We are looking for experienced CrossFitters and/or Coaches who are tenacious enough to confidently "no rep" athletes on faulting movements standards.  

Volunteers  - There are many positions we need to fill. Please lend us a hand to help make this event extraordinary.  

Cost for the CrossFit event and CrossFit night at Rexall Place: 

Individual $60 - includes compassion fee, bag, t-shirt,  hockey game ticket and free parking during the competition.  

Team $110 -  includes compassion fee, bag, t-shirt,  hockey game ticket and free parking during the competition.  When registering you will first enter teammate #1 for $55 then enter for teammate #2 for $55. 

Spectator, Judge and Volunteers $20 - hockey game ticket and free parking during the competition

Athletes registered before December 13 are guaranteed t-size.
