York Scarborough Parish Leadership 101 Workshop 

Are you or are you thinking about becoming a leader in your parish? Not sure what to do or what’s involved?

Join Bishop Yu and other Anglicans from the Diocese as we give you the tools you need to effectively do your job as a Parish Leader.

Parish Leadership 101 is a day long event for current and incoming parish leaders (churchwardens, deputy-churchwardens, treasurers, parish administrators). We strongly recommend that Clergy register with their parish team!

Workshop topics include:

• Human Resources (screening, contracts vs. employees, hiring & firing)
• Real Property Management (licenses/leases, inspections, rectories, "surplus")
• Parish Finances (legal status, CRA, responsibilities and trust funds)
• Insurance issues

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Although we will pass on details of any dietary concerns on, past experience suggests that we cannot cater fully to the needs of those who are gluten intolerant or on other special diets. We would respectfully suggest that you may wish to bring an appropriate alternative, though we hope that some of the refreshments may be suitable for you.   

Please arrive and check in from 9:00 am for a prompt start at 9:30 am (tea and coffee will be available).   

COST: $10 per person (this event is subsidized by York-Scarborough Area Council)

All workshop materials are now available here.  Please note that as last year, hardcopies will not be available at the Workshop. Attendees should bring copies of whatever reference documents they wish to have on hand. A copy of each Presenter’s slides will be shown on an overhead projector. Please contact your Area Bishop’s office for assistance if you are not able to access your own hardcopies.
