Images of Holy Week
Quiet Day Leader: Sister Connie, as she likes to be known, is a member of the Anglican Sisterhood of St. John the Divine, Honorary Associate at St. George on Yonge Anglican Church, and a member of the adjunct faculty at Wycliffe College where she teaches courses on prayer, monastic history, and Benedictine spirituality. She served as Rev. Mother of the Sisterhood from 1994 – 2005, and is currently Vocations Coordinator and directs the new program for women called “Companions on an Ancient Path.” In her spare time she enjoys film, music, art, and reading good mysteries. Her favourite scripture passage is from St. John’s gospel: This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. (John 15:12)
Quiet Day Theme: In Lectio Divina we pause from the busyness of our lives to listen “with the ear of our hearts” to the words of scripture. In Visio Divina we are invited to gaze “with the eye of our hearts” at the truth of God’s word in visual form. Sr. Connie will draw on her love of scripture and art in leading participants to reflect anew on the journey of Holy Week both in words and in visual images.
