Founder of a nonprofit is not the owner.  Boards are essentially the legal guardians of the corporate entity. A well-functioning board is critical to the long-term success of your organization.

This workshop will describe the proper role of the Board in a Nonprofit organization and targeted to founder of a nonprofit, board member, Senior staff, or would be founders/board member. Attend this workshop if, your Board members:

  1. Miss Board meetings to the point where you can’t even get a quorum
  2. Resist fundraising
  3. Focus on short-term issues only
  4. Provide little or poor financial oversight
  5. Don’t help recruit members with special skills and diversity
  6. Don't understand the full scope of their responsibilities or the difference between the Board/Staff responsibilities

Also attend this workshop if you are a new founder and think you can be the Board Chair for life or wish to understand the type of board members you need to be successful.
