Webinar: Essential Soft Skills for Successful Employment Outcomes

Webinar Description

Employers stress the importance of soft skills or what is called “essential skills” to be successful in the world of work. This webinar will go through the key skills employers are looking for in new employees and how to teach those skills and emphasize their importance when in a job. Workers lose their jobs often due to poor soft skills vs. knowing how to do the job!  You will learn about resources that can improve worker's soft skills including checklists to work on these skills.  Join this webinar for tips and suggestions to improve employment outcomes!

Presenter: Janet Estervig

Janet has a BS in Special Education and Spanish, MS in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, and ADN as a Registered Nurse. She taught High School special education and established a supported employment program which she was the Executive Director for 25 years providing integrated employment services for youth and adults with disabilities. Janet was the Director for an agency providing personal care and home chore services for individuals with disabilities and elders. She worked at the Department of Health Services as the Employment Initiatives Section Chief. Janet is currently working at Attainment Company writing curricula for special education and training to support employment outcomes for students and adults with disabilities. Janet also works as a Private Duty Nurse. Janet conducts training workshops and presents at conferences. She currently serves on three non-profit Boards. Fun fact, she has been a church organist for over 50 years!!
