 Getting Ahead in Social Media

Veronica Poloneitchik

Wednesday, March 22, 6-8PM

Time for a Social Media Boot Camp!

Twitter is a social networking platform that allows users to post short messages and interact with other users in the system. Founded in 2006 and utilized by 317 million monthly active members, as of 2016 reports, Twitter takes the 2nd place after Facebook in the Social Media ecosystem. The session will be dedicated to learning the basics of the platform utilization with hands-on practice on the account setup, platform’s rules, and capabilities.

Upon the successful session completion, you will be able to:

  • Set up your own account
  • Connect with other users
  • Post some tweets
  • Understand the hashtag world
  • Have a better grasp on how Twitter can be used (real time info sharing, marketing, educational tool, etc.)

Workshop Takeaways:

Twitter 101 session will teach you how the channel should be used to strategize and express your ideas, be heard, get visibility, connect and follow like-minded and ideas-stimulating users or groups, and move from visualization to actualization.
