Bishop Dr. A.T. Griffey of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville Welcomes Dr. Lehman Bates of the Global Faith Alliance

Dr. Bishop A. T. Griffey, III, of the historic Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville welcomes Dr. Lehman D. Bates, I of the Global Faith Alliance. Dr. Bates will moderate an informational, fundraising meeting regarding the Global Faith Alliances Annual Mission Trip to St. Kitts on December 8, 2009. Two meetings are available for your convenience, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Global Faith Alliance (GFA) is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit entity comprised of a consortium of faith-based organizations which includes the historic Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville. Its mission is to promote international community development and humanitarian aid projects focusing on peace, advocacy, technology, health care, economic development, ministry, education and counseling.

To date, GFA has donated over $3 million and over 3,500 people have benefited from GFA’s efforts. Each year since 2002, GFA has successfully made significant impacts on the people of St. Kitts and Nevis islands by:

  • Facilitating the delivery of effective health care services located in various locations throughout St. Kitts and Nevis, which include, but are not limited to providing free medical screening services, medicines, medical supplies and equipment, hospital supplies and equipment, pharmaceuticals, surgical supplies and equipment, dental care supplies and equipment;
  • Providing educational supplies which include textbooks, ancillary material to enhance texts, and other types of books covering basic skills, including business, vocational/technical, children’s books and the broad range of books, periodicals and magazines for both public schools and libraries.
  • Supporting the spread of the Gospel of God, in the name of Christ Jesus through preaching, teaching, and purposeful praying;

Mission trips like ours are vital to the recovery of the economy, the health of the people and most importantly, furthering the cause of Christ in other parts of the world. God has opened doors to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world. The exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways.

While financial support is necessary, it comes in a distant second to our need for your prayer support. Since prayer is instrumental to the success of this mission, I would like to know if I can count on you in that area. Please pray for Global Faith Alliance that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis Islands. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry. The Word of God says “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it will be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:19-20 KJV)

JOIN US. If you feel led, please consider going on this trip or another in the future. There is a great need for medical professionals to join us on this trip. If you are a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse, or medical assistant, please consider joining us on this mission trip. FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Another way you can be involved is to help provide much needed financial support. Would you consider supporting GCA with a tax-deductible financial donation? SPONSORSHIP. As we embark on this endeavor, it is important to develop the next generation of missionaries. Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville would like to send five students from Tennessee State University (TSU). The benefits are great, as are the expenses. Your sponsorship donation will help cover the costs of travelling and accommodations.

Benefits Include:

  1. Develop missions skills, mission-mindedness, and cross-cultural experience;
  2. Develop teamwork among teammates and supported sponsors;
  3. Deepen personal faith through the personal sacrifice of finances and time for God’s Kingdom;
  4. Prepare for a long-term commitment to missions.
