Basketball Talk

Whether you are a coach, parent or athlete you need to attend.  Understand how developing a complete basketball player requires a long term comprehensive approach, requiring nutrition, specific strength and conditioning, formal and informal basketball skill development, time management (school and sport), and recovery and regeneration techniques. Many of our athletes do not reach their potential because they don't have a comprehensive multiyear plan. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn about athletic development from an expert panel of speakers who will discuss topics from their respective expertise.

Wayne Dawkins

Coach Dawkins will discuss why many highly skilled players  don't have the athleticism to get the most out of their skills and therefore won't reach their goals. These same players usually never spend any time working on their speed, quickness, agility, core and balance. Specifically they neglect:

a) strength and conditing to allow correct basketball skill movement and prevent injury.

b) the importance of technical and abstract basketball skill training in overall basketball development

Luke Wilson

Luke will discuss the differences in the Australian sporting system Vs the Canadian. He will also attempt to establish reasons for Australia being ranked higher in the world in both men's and women's basketball, depsite a smaller population.

Dr. Thomas Lam

Dr. Lam will discuss methods to prevent injuries while improving athletic qualities specific for basketball. Learn how to jump higher, become more explosive, improve your abilities to cut and change directions while decreasing your likelihood of injury. Learn about Full Spectrum Training and how to develop your athlete over years to fully maximize their potential, providing them with the opportunity to succeed at the highest level.
