2010 Conservation Forum "Beneath the Surface"

Williamsburg and Gloucester Point

Forum registration $25 at the door. Student and faculty free with appropriate ID.

Morning Program Williamsburg  9 am - 1 pm 

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Sandra Whitehouse, marine environmental policy advisor and team lead  for Ocean Conservancy's Coastal and Marine Spatial Dr. Sandra WhitehousePlanning Program. 

Location: College of William & Mary Sadler Center, located behind Zable Stadium

Parking: Free parking at William & Mary Hall.  Van shuttle available from Compton Drive at William & Mary Hall or short walk to the Sadler Center.

Location:  Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) auditorium at Gloucester Point, a 30 minute drive on Colonial Parkway and across the York River Bridge.

From Interstate 64 to the Hospitality House and William & Mary Hall (Kaplan Arena) parking lot:

Interstate 64, VA-143 exit, Exit 238 toward US-60/Camp Peary/Colonial Williamsburg, merge to the left going west on 64 and right going east on 64 onto VA-143E toward Williamsburg/Jamestown/Yorktown, turn right onto VA-132, turn right onto Scotland Street and the Hospitality House (415 Richmond Road, 23185, 757-229-4020) is on the corner of Scotland St and Richmond Road.

William & Mary Hall (751 Ukrop Way, 23185, 757-221-4000) parking lot continue northwest on Richmond Road (Rt. 60) to Brooks Street, turn left and the parking lot is on Compton Drive and Ukrop Way

Virginia Institute of Marine Science (1208 Greate Road, Gloucester Point, 23062, 804-684-7000)  from The Hospitality House go northwest on Richmond Road  Virginia Avenue (parallels The Hospitality House) turn right onto Virginia Avenue, turn right onto Lafayette St/Va-162, turn left onto N Henry St (N132/64), cross the RR tracks, bear right  onto 132E/Y & Colonial Pkwy/Colonial National Historic Pkwy, take the US Rt. 17 North-South ramp and merge onto US-17N/ George Coleman bridge $2 toll. After the bridge, turn right at the first light onto Lafayette Heights Dr. then turn right onto Greate Rd. VIMS is on your left with parking.

Accommodations

The Williamsburg Hospitality House has limited rooms available for $89 single and double occupancy for Thursday night, November 4.  Call reservations at 800-932-9192 before October 5 to receive this special rate. The Hospitality House offers onsite parking within easy walking distance to the Sadler Center for overnight guests.
