GREEN BUILDINGS AND HOMES IN THE NORTH BAY:
An Overview of Projects (and Programs) in Our Region

Come learn about the diverse array of commercial and residential green buildings that exist in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties. You might be surprised at how many there are in or around your town. In this 20-minute presentation, guest speaker Miriam Landman will show photos and share info on a wide range of completed green buildings, offices, and single-family and multi-family residences -- new construction as well as renovations and retrofits -- highlighting projects that have achieved LEED or GreenPoint Rated certifications. She will also provide a brief overview of municipal green building initiatives and regional resources.

Miriam Landman is a sustainability consultant, writer, and editor with expertise in green building, green living, and sustainable communities. She is the founder of M. Landman Communications & Consulting and publisher of TheGreenSpotlight.com. She has been involved in environmental work for almost twenty years and has been focused on green building for more than a decade. In the past, Miriam was senior associate with Simon & Associates Green Building Consultants, based in San Francisco. Earlier in her career, she was a producer and reporter for public radiošs Living on Earth program. She has also worked for an architecture firm and for various nonprofit environmental organizations.

Miriam has consulted on numerous residential, commercial, and institutional  building projects, including a dozen LEED certified buildings, many of which achieved the LEED Gold rating. She has a master's degree in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University, and a bachelor's degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
