CAN WE TALK?
AN INTERFAITH CONVERSATION
TO CELEBRATE
THE ONENESS OF HUMANITY

We assembled a terrific panel to talk together, and with the audience, about how we, people of different faiths and traditions, can live together with respect and understanding.

As we work in the community with people of all faiths and cultures, all backgrounds and beliefs, what we hear most is the desire for people to come together and realize that we have more commonalities than differences. So we thought this would be a good time to have the conversation.

That's why OneJax, along with our collaborators, the Interfaith Council of Jacksonville and Baptist Health, put together a diverse and knowledgeable panel to feature in this year's Oneness of Humanity celebration:

  • The Reverend Torin Dailey, Pastor--First Baptist Church of Oakland
  • Rabbi Joshua Lief, Senior Rabbi--Congregation Ahavath Chesed--The Temple
  • Mr. Jack Logue, Director--St. Vincent's Medical Center Spirituality Center
  • Ms. Elinor Pierce, M.T.S., Research Director--The Pluralism Project at Harvard University
  • Mr. Ashraf Shaikh, Spokesperson, Elder & Founder--Islamic Center of Northeast Florida
  • Moderator: Celeste Krueger Ed. S., Executive Director--OneJax

The conversation came from the different perspectives of healthcare, business and education, among others, and explored how Jacksonville compares with other communities that are facing similar issues of religious diversity.
