The Center for Photography at Woodstock invites you to join us for our 2010 Benefit Gala on Sunday October 10th, 2010 at the Bearsville Theater. 

This year's event will honor the photo agency VII and feature CPW's 32nd annual benefit auction of contemporary and classic photographs.

This year's recipient is the renowned photo agency VII, one of the most innovative and important photographer agency collectives in modern times.
 
VII (which derives its name from the number of founding photo-journalists who formed this collectively owned agency on September 9th, 2001) was designed from the outset to be an efficient, technologically enabled distribution hub for some of the world's finest photojournalism.  VII has been responsible for creating and relaying to the world many of the images that define the turbulent opening years of the 21st century.

The Gala will being at 4pm with a reception and presentation of the Vision Awards. Admission to the auction will being at 6pm with the live auction beginning at 6:15pm. 

Auction proceeds directly support the creative programs of the Center for Photography at Woodstock, a not-for-profit arts and educational organization. Please support the arts.

CPW is excited to present its annual benefit auction as a stunning exhibition. All lots will be on view in CPW's galleries from Wednesday, September 29 - Sunday, October 3 (gallery hours are Wednesday - Sunday from 12-5pm and by appointment).

Prints will be on view at the auction site, on Sunday, October 10th, the day of the sale, from 1-5pm for 2010 Benefit Gala attendees only.

Sunday, October 7 - 31, 2010 
 On view in CPW's galleries will be the exhibition Questions Without Answers, organized by Tufts University and curated by Amy Schlegel, director of the Tufts University Art Gallery. This exhibtion presents photographs made by members of the photo agency VII which depict defining events worldwide, from the fall of the Berlin Wall and September 11, to Iraq and Afghanistan, the Balkans and the Congo, Chechnya and Gaza, among many others.
