This conference is designed to provide an overview of advanced statistical methodology for genetic studies of substance use and abuse phenotypes. It covers analytical methods for twin and family studies, phenotyping, genome wide association, sequencing, pharmacogenomics, metabolomics and animal research. The focus is on a hands-on approach, in which participants use their own laptop computers to implement and experiment with statistical methods described during presentations by the faculty.
There is no deadline for the application but selection/registration of participants will be on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is limited to 50 participants. Registration fees include access to all sessions, coffee breaks, lunch breaks, and opening and closing receptions. Minority students and scientists are encouraged to attend!
As part of a collaboration with a group of investigators from the Karolinska Institute, we are offering two additional days focusing on statistical modeling of extended pedigree data. This workshop is intended for our Swedish collaborators but open to others with registration limited to 20 participants total.
