FAST BREAK INITIATIVE WEEKEND

HOSTED BY USL AND THE AZ CHAPTER OF USL

NOVEMBER 5 & 6

**All Events Sponsored by USL - No Cost**

The Arizona Chapter of US Lacrosse, in conjunction with US Lacrosse, is proud to present the Fast Break Initiative Weekend on November 5th and 6th, 2010 at Arcadia High School, 4703 E Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. The weekend offers something for everyone -- players, parents, coaches, team administrators, referees and umpires.

On Friday, November 5th, from 7 to 9pm, we are pleased to have Coach Don Zimmerman from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County as our keynote speaker at Arcadia High School. UMBC was recently featured in "Inside Lacrosse" magazine as the "MLL Factory" and Coach Zimmerman has been hailed as one of the top collegiate lacrosse coaches in the country, due in part to his stressing the fundamentals. Coach Zimmerman's address is sure to be enlightening to all who attend from both the boys and girls programs.

Saturday, November 6th is a fun filled, event packed day. US Lacrosse trainers and clinicians will host a Level I Coach's Clinic. The AYLL and AGLA working with the AZ Chapter require that at least one person from each team attend the Clinic, and it is mandatory for any AYLL Head Coach who has not completed the Level I Clinic to attend. Teams are encouraged to send as many interested parties as needed to support your team including those wanting to learn more about coaching lacrosse. $10 will hold your spot and the $10 will be returned to you on Saturday. You DO NOT need to be a USL member to attend the Coach's Clinic. Lunch will be provided to all attendees at no cost.

Members of the Federation of International Lacrosse Champion US National Men's Team will host two clinics for newer and developing players. The morning is reserved for 3rd through 8th grade boys, and the afternoon session is open to 9th through 12th graders. Full pads are required and there is no charge for this clinic which is open to the first 50 players who sign up for each session.

Coach Maren Henley and the ASU Women's Lacrosse team will host a morning clinic for newer and developing players, K through 12th grade. Again full gear and mouth guards are required. This free clinic is open to the first 75 attendees.

Saturday continues with sessions for current and potential referees (AYLL) and umpires (AGLA), hosted by two of the top officials in the country. Any former player, parent or interested party thinking of becoming an official....... now is your chance to begin your instruction. Lunch will be provided to all attendees.

And finally, breakout sessions are scheduled from 9:00am to 4:00pm with topics for everyone from both the boys and girls teams including rules and scorekeeping, concussion awareness and AED (i.e. defibrillator) use, information on non profit and tax exempt status, and advanced coaching strategies for AYLL and AGLA coaches. The day will end with college recruiting seminars. This is a perfect time for players, parents and coaches to ask questions of the panel of experts.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday and Saturday, November 5th and 6th. Registration information can be found by clicking on the links to the left.

Please pass this information along to anyone who might be interested in an exciting lacrosse filled weekend.
